Pablo Laguia
Wedding | Last Updated: December 6, 2020
I am Pablo Laguia, wedding photographer, although it’s not always been this way. I have worked for several newspapers, I also worked in the fashion industry and for some magazines but I have to say that it is in wedding photography where I have found myself and I really enjoy doing my work.
I always felt attracted by photography since I was a child, that’s why after school I studied Fine Arts with photography as a specialty. Since then, I have taken many workshops, programs and courses in photography. It has already been 9 years as a wedding photographer for me and nowadays I enjoy it even more than when I started.
I am a lover of analogue photography and I enjoy shooting weddings in a documentary fashion. Every wedding is different and I have to be there to prove it.
I have used Nikon for many years, like the Nikon FM2 and Nikon F4, but it’s already been 6 years working with Canon. I do not have strong reasons for choosing one or the other. I actually think both are great.
Canon 6D – I have tried several models and I really think this one is my favourite. It is tiny and with a high quality, leaving no reason to envy to its big brother the Canon 5D mark 3.
Canon 5D – I use this one for specific work. It has something very special – it is magic sometimes. It seems like shooting with film.
Sigma 35mm f/1.4 – This is my battle lens – I feel like I could do everything with it. The new Sigma lenses are the best I have tried.
Canon 50mm f/1.2L – This is a classic, and if you work with two gears it is absolutely necessary.
Canon 85mm f/1.2L – This is an incredible lens. I use it for portraits and small details.
Canon 24mm f/3.5L TSE – This lens offers you something different, a little bit of fantasy without any digital effect. This lens is pure joy.
Contax G1 with Carl Zeiss 35mm f/2 – This is the camera that comes with me all day long.
Pentax 67 – Now we talk about more than just photography. This is the best way of feeling like a photographer.
Polaroid 635cl – This is a toy, a great toy to make a nice and unique souvenir for your grooms just in the moment.
These are the films that I use the most:
Kodak Tri-X, Kodak Portra 160, Kodak Portra 400 and Fuji 400H.
